Age 16, with three new friends in a village in the mountains near the Haitian border

Jody

Jody goes for the extremes.

In high school she and a girlfriend lived alone for two months in a poor village in the Dominican Republic mountains, digging latrines and teaching oral hygiene.  When it came time for college though, forget that!  She wanted the bright lights of London, where she earned her B.A. in Fashion Journalism.

It is not easy finding journalism jobs these days.  Jody would not go back to waitressing.  It took her six months of seriously relentless hunting but finally(!) she scored a paying job with Envy Magazine, then with Houston Magazine and finally with one of the biggest newspapers in the country, The Houston Chronicle.  There she is the Food and the Travel editor; you can read her sections on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Jody has lots of friends and they are always the nicest people you would ever want to meet.  She runs into some pretty interesting people in her travels around the world, too.

A generous and a trusting soul, Jody is an easy target for practical jokes.  Hey Jody, do you remember Swimming World?  Hahahahaahaha!
